We’re busy recruiting a couple more advisers to the Cervello team at the moment so I’m spending some time trying to understand a bit more about the world of financial services recruitment.

Therefore I’m finding myself spending a decent chunk of time looking at job adverts for financial advisers and planners to see what works well…

If I’m being perfectly frank I haven’t been particularly impressed.

The reason? It seems that when it comes to the financial adviser recruitment game, whilst other things tend to get mentioned, only two things are in clear focus…

Location and Salary.

There’s no denying that both Location and Salary are important. However here at Cervello we’re looking for professionals who are looking for something a bit, erm, more…

We’re looking for advisers who want to be part of a great team. A team who are serious about doing a great job for their clients but also want to have a lot of fun.

We’re looking for advisers who want to work in an environment where sharing best ideas and practice is encouraged and acted upon…

We looking for advisers entrepreneurial enough to want to build their own businesses but need support in a bunch of areas including marketing support, efficient systems and great technology which all allows advisers to do what they enjoy.

So, whilst Location and Salary might be part of the mix we think there are other factors which are far more important…
