Why financial wellbeing is so important…and what we’re doing to help.
Here at Cervello towers we’ve been increasingly focused on how we can help more people take control of their financial affairs.
You see when we launched our business in 2009 all of our (handful of) clients were individuals.
Our business has evolved a decent amount since then and whilst we continue to help individuals make the right decisions for them we are continuously focused on how we can support as many as we can to have the tools to manage their money more efficiently, take control more effectively and have the knowledge (and regular supportive nudges) designed to support them along the way.
We also work with a portfolio of corporate clients who we initially helped comply with automatic enrolment compliance. However for many of our corporate clients priorities are changing. You see more and more business owners, Financial Directors and HR managers are focusing on two areas…
Firstly how to recruit, reward and retain their best people.
and
Secondly how to ensure they have a productive team of individuals who feel true commitment to the business.
I’ve always said the puzzle of finding great people to work for your organisation is a multi faceted challenge. It’s about salary but also building the right culture. It’s about expecting high standards but also being understanding and caring. It’s about having the right recruitment processes in place…but it’s equally about having systems to ensure the right people don’t leave.
It’s not inaccurate to say that recruiting, rewarding and retaining good people who also are really productive is a tough challenge for any business and is a multi faceted challenge.
However one area more of our employer clients are thinking about is how employees financial wellbeing has an impact on their performance at work.
Interestingly there’s plenty of research to say it does…
In fact a recent PWC study said that 46% of employees in the workplaces surveyed worried about money with 50% of those worried spending 3 or more hours per week at work dealing with their own financial concerns…
This means millions (if not billions) of pounds being lost to businesses due to a servere lack of employees financial wellbeing across the UK.
Therefore, in partnership with employers, we want to try to help…
This is why we’re launching ‘Cervello Financial Wellbeing’ using the same tools and technology we give to our private clients but using these tools to help employees of our corporate clients manage their money more effectively.
However, as any plumber or electrician will tell you, the right tools alone won’t do the job.
That’s why we’re teamed up with Chris Budd at Ovation Finance and author of The Financial Wellbeing book to deliver his content in bite size chunks through our financial wellbeing platform.
You see we believe that by financially empowering your employees as well as providing them with the right education and guidance we’ll be able to help more people in the UK take better control of their financial affairs. This in turn will lead to more productive businesses and happier employees.
