Why I’m particularly proud of ‘the kindness project’ book and how I’d love your help…
In 2015 I published my first book. It was technical book about how companies could comply with pension legislation. Now, whilst it was hopefully useful for the people who purchase and continue to purchase the book (I still get the odd small royalty check!) it was clearly not a tome which was going to get me on any bestseller list anytime soon.
At the time I didn’t think I was going to write another book and then something happened in 2018. You see I’m a natural optimist. I believe that most people are pretty decent. Now it’s clear as humans that we’re all flawed. We make mistakes. We get angry, annoyed, and frustrated. But generally, we’ve evolved to work together, collaborate and be good to each other.
However the majority of what I consumed as news told me that the world was a scary place full of negativity, corruption and violence. Now I understand that bad news sells because of our natural human tendency to focus on Negativity.
However I also wanted to highlight and showcase some of the positive things happening in the world, and more importantly to highlight to my then 14 year old daughter, that there was plenty of good in the world.
So, my daughter and I started a podcast called the Kindness project as a platform to showcase people doing amazing things in the world. However what started as a hobby for Charlotte and I has turned into something interesting.
You see the podcast has turned into something of a (moderate) success!
We’ve been voted as one of Spotify’s most inspirational podcasts, currently we’re the ‘4th kindest podcast in the world’ and we have tens of thousands of listeners each month who tune in and listening to our wittering…but then hopefully get inspired by the amazing guests we get to interview.
I love interviewing people doing amazing things in the world.
I’ve interviewed leaders of global businesses about how they incorporate kindness in leadership, the directors of charities large and small and Netflix documentary stars. All with the same goal to share their stories and hopefully inspire our audience but also to continue to show that it doesn’t take much to realise there is so much good out there
Now, the podcast has turned into a Book! The book will be published on 17 November 2022 and we’re really excited to be sharing its insights with you…
Now you may be asking why I’m writing to you about this book and why, as someone who has a relationship with me in my capacity as a chartered financial planner and my team at Cervello, you’d be interested in the book coming out.
As a boutique financial planning firm we find our focus and priority is running and building our business on our values.
One of these Values is ‘do well and do good’ and I’m hoping, if you’d like to, you might want to support me to do a bit of good in the world.
You see we’ve chosen to donate 100% of the profits of the kindness project book to worthy charities, so the more we sell the more good I can do individually and we can do collectively.
So, if you’d like to, please feel free to purchase the book when it comes out! You can find out more, and let us know you’re interested in the book when it comes out, by visiting www.thekindnessproject.co.uk, and signing up for the book specific mailing list so as soon as the book gets released you’ll be notified!
Thanks for your support in advance and I hope you have a lovely day.
