So, Autumn is here, as you can tell by the slight sharpness in the air, and where I live the constant rain falling from the skies!

However, we’ve not stopped on the What Happens Next Youtube channel sharing amazing quality content if you’re thinking about what happens next in your life.

These three videos will support your thought process if you’re thinking about ‘what happens next’ in your life in a number of ways, all of which I want to talk through in this article…

First, let me recommend a long form interview with Damian Stancombe, who has recently finished full time work and has started to consider his What Happens Next. 

Damian recommends three specific things. Firstly start planning early. Damian used something called a ’60 payday countdown’ which helped him work out what either retirement (or what happens next) looks like for hi,.

Secondly, think about retirmement in stages and specifically the “go-go” stage, the “slow-go” stage and then finally the “no go” stage and I’ll let you watch the entire video so you can understand what and how you might want to consider these factors when planning for what happens next…

Lastly, and this is going to be a theme we’re going to talk about a lot on What Happens next, is the importance of social and community connections.

The second video I’d recommend you watch is about one I recorded about one of my favourite TED talks of all time. This is Bill Burnett’s Life by design TED talk and I’d suggest you should thinking about when you’re considering ‘what happens next’. This is determine what’s actually important to you, not being afraid to experiment and thinking about success in life as a journey to wellbeing.
