“AE”, Expertise for free and a nice cuppa of Tea

Whilst I’m succeeding (at the moment!) to get a relatively good balance between work and life I’m finding that my working hours are filled with talking about, helping with and consulting with our clients about one particular topic.

If you’re a regular reader of this blog you probably know the subject I’m talking about already.

If you’re new to the blog, thanks for joining us, would you like a cup of tea? and the subject we’ll be talking about today is….

Automatic Enrolment

Currently we’re looking after 3 companies with staging dates (the date which firms need to comply with the new pension by) on the 1st November.

These firms employ between 500 – 799 people and whilst they are in a position where they are all postponing their date by 3 months (as is allowable) but still have a bunch of obligations (including reporting and communications) we need to ensure they comply with within a month (on either side) of their staging date.

We’re also currently working in partnership with a few more medium sized firms with more approaching

As the reality that automatic enrolment and the obligations which come with it are approaching quickly (any employer with over 62 staff only have 8 months at best and 2 months at worst to comply depending on their size) more employers are looking to engage with firms to help them out with ensuring they comply with the new rules.

Part of the reason we’re so busy with automatic enrolment is that as a business we’ve been talking about this subject for about 3 years.

In the past 3 years we’ve learned loads about the in’s and out’s of automatic enrolment, and engaging and working in partnership with clients has taught us even more. Having the pensions regulator on my “speed dial” telephone list has also allowed us to iron out our understanding in some of the more detailed aspects of the regulation.

We’ve also learned loads about the practicalities of auto enrolment by listening to (and answering questions) at seminars we’ve run and whilst we haven’t run an auto enrolment seminar in a while we thought as the time to comply with auto enrolment is now close for so many businesses it was worth doing so again….

So, on the 29th October and in partnership with Austen HR we’re running a seminar at our London offices to help medium sized companies with the automatic enrolment process.

This seminar will suit anyone who has a management responsibility for running a business with between 62 – 499 staff or alternatively work in a professional partnership with firms of this size (i.e. solicitors, accountants and fellow finance professions who work with employers of this size).

It’s free and we’ll even by supplying a nice cup of Coffee (or tea)….

You can find more about the seminar here

If you run a smaller business or are a professional who work with smaller businesses (and when I say smaller businesses I mean employ less than 62 individuals) this seminar probably isn’t for you.

We will be solely focussing on the challenges faced by medium sized businesses due to automatic enrolment (which we’ve found are different to smaller businesses) but do intend to run a series of events next year for smaller businesses.

Space is severely limited and we will be working on a first come first served basis but if you really need to understand how auto enrolment will impact either a business you are part of or who you work in partnership with as well as an opportunity to ask questions relation to your business then this event will be for you.

I look forward to seeing you there…..
