Whilst Aristotle was prolific in a bunch of different areas (including biology, physics and psychology) he was also the master of the insightful quote…

and then the amazingly simple but the incredibly insightful…

Apologies readers, that was obviously the great team of philosophers of the modern age, The spice girls (to note my tongue is firmly in cheek!)

The Aristotle quote I really love is…

“The whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts”

It’s a phrase which rings true with our families.

It’s a phrase which rings true when we think about the tribes we’re part of…be it being a football fan, a chess player or a technology nut!

and

It’s a phrase which applies to our business lives.

I’m lucky that in my business life so many people “get collaboration” (something not so prevalent on the televisions portrayal of business).

I’m lucky we’ve got such a great team at Principal.

I’m lucky that I met Matt and Bridget which has led to the development of AE in a Box.

I’m lucky that many of our fellow professionals are liking what they’re doing to support AE in a Box. Not solely because of the financial incentives. But because they believe what we believe…

However the reality is that the mission to help so many employers, and even more employees is a team sport.

It can’t be done by an individual.

It can’t be done with a dictatorial approach.

It will be done by people who truly believe that individuals given the opportunity to take ownership of their financial futures is a good thing and are prepared to collaborate, and not compete, to make it happen.

It will be done who regardless of how they feel about the spice girls (I’m not a huge fan but I’m not judging!) they agree that Aristotle was spot on…
