Individual talents and how we help our clients use their most valuable commodity (spoiler alert : it isn’t money)
As individuals we’ve all got our own individual talents, skills as well as the stuff we’re not individually so good at. For modern society that’s a good thing as it means that we can focus our skills and talents on what we’re actually good at as opposed to attempting to do everything which needs to be done in our workplaces and homes.
The reality is that most of us could learn to do the work of our accountants, electricians, plumbers, solicitors or financial planners. All we’d need is the time taken to qualify for these occupations, the accumulated experience of someone who has worked in this particular profession and the independence to make professional judgments.
So, we could learn how to do a variety of different skill sets we need but we don’t. This often comes down to one thing. The most valuable commodity we all have…
Time
We all know that if any of us tried to complete a task we didn’t have the experience or skills to complete it would take us longer than if you employed a professional, the quality of the job might not be as high and unless you really enjoyed the work you needed to do you might feel that this was time wasted as opposed to well spent.
It’s interesting. Many of our clients are professional people. They’ve done well in their careers and are talented and intelligent. They have managed elements of their own personal financial situations for years.
However they choose to work with us…and when we ask them why there are a variety of different reasons but often going back to one underlying motivation…
Our clients want someone they can trust to help them make smart financial decisions…
…so they can spend their time doing something they either enjoy or they’re incredibly good at (or often with our clients it’s both!
We believe we add value to our clients in a number of ways. A trusted adviser. A sounding board. Someone who delivers the right solutions to our clients challenges. A helpful nudge in the right financial direction.
However all of this boils down to one thing…
Our job is to ensure that our clients can make the most of their time both now and in the future and that their financial decisions enable them to do that.
If you feel that might be something you’d like to see we can help you with don’t hesitate to get in touch, call us on 01708 606 202 or email us at cassiedaems@cervellofp.co.uk.
