In 2022 there was a  51 million active Youtube channels and over a billion videos available to watch. 

I love YouTube. Whilst like anything online, it’s really easy to waste time, there’s also so much content available on YouTube which combines insight, usefulness but is also enjoyable to watch.

In todays article I want to share three that I’m personally love right now to provide an insight to you.

Jools Guides

I’m a natural tourist. I like to travel internationally but also know that living on the edge of one of the greatest cities in the world is also a privilege.

However COVID put paid to my travel plans for some time in 2020 and 2021! However one of my favourite Youtube channels through the pandemic is the London based walking tours channel run by Julian McDonnell (“Joolz”)

Joolz’s videos are fun, but also incredibly informative. I thought I knew London, and then I started watching Joolz’s youtube videos and it made me realise that every Nook and Cranny of London has a historic surprise.

The videos are hosted with a cheeky smile, and a great sense of Humour and are definitely worth a watch if you’re looking for inspiration for a London walk.

The Daily Stoic

Over the past few years I’ve been increasingly interested in Philosophy, particularly Stoicism.

My belief is that Stoicism has a lot to teach us about living in the modern world in a sustainable way and the most prominent Stoic YouTube channel is The Daily Stoic.

Ryan Holiday, who also writes some amazing books on Stoic philosophy, hosts and explains Stoic principles in a way that applies to our modern lives.

Whilst I consider myself an expert in helping people achieve financial independence so they’ve got freedom of time, I still spend a significant amount of time in my business and supporting my clients.

Part of the reason for this is that I love what I do, it’s in part because I’ve still got young children, and it’s in part because I feel that I’ve got so much to do over at least the next 10 – 15 years continuing to support our clients at Cervello.

However, I also find the insights received from individuals who have made the decision to live their lives in a different way both inspiring and fascinating.

Neil and Sarah decided to retire early and travel the world. I love their channel. They highlight both the positives and the challenges of international travel and provides fantastic insights for anyone in their 50’s or 60’s thinking about ‘what’s next’ from someone actually walking the walk!

A channel worth watching, particularly if you’re thinking about what’s next in your life.
