Special days, “Getting it” and why the auto enrolment journey has just started.

Today I woke earlier than usual.

The main reason…

Today is a special day.
Today is a day where the seed of an idea, which moved onto a bunch of discussions, which then moved onto a bunch of really hard work from a team of great people.

Which then moved onto today.

You see today is the day that we provide our answer to the following (massive) question…

How do we help the hundreds of thousands of SME and Micro businesses to deal with auto enrolment in a way they can afford?

I’ve written and spoken loads about what I believe is the most efficient way to solve the problem (you can read about much of them in my white paper here).

However as we approach the period of time when the first huge mass of SME and micro employers need to comply one thing is undoubtedly true…

Now isn’t the time for talk.

Now is the time for action.

Over the past months a team of fantastic people (including Matt Walne, Bridget Greenwood and Gareth Thompson’s team and Codepotato and I) have been working on a solution…

and that’s why today is special.

Today is the day we launch our own software solution specifically designed to help SME and Micro employers and the professionals who work with them…

“AE in a Box”

If you haven’t heard about what “AE in a Box” does it’s succinctly explained in the video (apologies for the dodgy cockney accent – that would be me!)…

You can also find out more here.

So, today is exciting.

but also interesting…

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been showing a bunch of different people how AE in a Box works.

The most satisfying thing is when the people I speak to “get it”.

It’s not only expressed by words.

It’s expressed by a glint in the eye a slight smile.

It’s expressed by understanding, by questioning, by challenging.

However one’s thing for certain…

They “get” the challenge we all face

They “get” the need for a different way.

They “get” how “AE in a Box” can help to solve the problem.

However not everyone will “get it”. I’m good with that.

There are employers who are choosing to  ignore auto enrolment.

There are also professionals who don’t see auto enrolment as their problem, or believe that they can help anywhere near enough of the employers we need to by adopting a “consultancy only” approach

and

There are organisations who claim to have solutions to support professionals and employers in the SME and Micro market when in fact their support is too expensive for that particular marketplace.

For all of those parties, they are more than entitled to their opinion. I respect their right to deal with auto enrolment in their own way. I just don”t agree…

However for the ones who see that “AE in a Box” has the opportunity to help thousands and thousands of employers comply with auto enrolment I’ve got a message…

Everything we’ve done up to now is preparation.

The journey is starting today.

The vehicle for many will be “AE in a Box”.
